The Carwash on Broadway is the most technologically advanced and energy efficient carwash constructed in the Lehigh Valley. It features a sophisticated computer controlled carwash system that starts with scanning technology to create an individual wash customized to the exact dimensions of the vehicle. This minimizes water usage and maximizes the characteristics of the wash for your vehicle enabling the tunnel to wash over 100 vehicles per hour. The energy efficiency measures featured in this project include variable frequency drive motors for all major equipment in the facility, LED lighting for the tunnel as well as the neon exterior accents, and a water reclamation system to reduce the amount of fresh water resources consumed by over 50%.
Architecturally, the tunnel wash is one of a kind in this region featuring full height glass to showcase the tunnel equipment along Broadway. The technical aspects of constructing this facility included working within an extremely tight site that involved diverting existing offsite storm water flow through the property and performing quality and quantity treatment of onsite storm water, as well as working within a PPL right-of-way easement for high voltage power lines.
