SAGE Design-Build is delivering Axium Packaging’s 136,000sf Bethlehem facility via Design-Build, consolidating Allentown operations into a branded, state-of-the-art hub. The project includes 40,000sf of plastics manufacturing, warehousing, offices, and labs; 36-ft clear heights, 50×50 bays, precast walls, ESFR fire protection, and a rail spur. On a remediated brownfield (vapor mitigation), turnover is targeted for Q1 of 2026.

SAGE Design-Build is proud to partner with Axium Packaging on their newest Lehigh Valley facility. This 136,000sf new construction project marks a bold step forward for manufacturing in our region with Axium investing nearly $20 million in the Lehigh Valley. Leveraging Design-Build’s efficiency and ingenuity, it’s our honor to steward this next chapter for Axium.

Our team is delivering this project through the Design-Build approach, bringing clarity, efficiency, and collaboration to every phase of the process. Located in Bethlehem, PA, the facility will consolidate Axium’s Allentown operations into one state-of-the-art hub. Inside, the building will house approximately 40,000sf dedicated to plastics injection molding, with the balance designed for warehousing, offices, labs, and support spaces.

What makes this project especially exciting is its alignment with Axium’s global design standards. The facility will feature a consistent brand-aligned, architectural style including 36-foot clear heights, 50’ x 50’ bay spacing, precast concrete wall panels, ESFR fire protection, and a layout designed for maximum workflow efficiency. A rail spur will also connect directly to the site, ensuring smooth delivery of raw materials, strengthening Axium’s supply chain capabilities.

Just as important as what’s above ground is what’s below it. This brownfield site required innovative solutions, including a vapor mitigation system and dynamic compaction to reinforce onsite soils. These steps ensure the facility not only meets today’s demands but also stands strong for decades to come.

Currently under construction, the project is on track for a Q1 of 2026 turnover. Once open, it will represent the best of what the Lehigh Valley offers: industrial innovation, economic growth, and a commitment to building smarter, stronger communities.
